About Churchill Concrete: Your Local Fulshear Contractor

Local Crews Who Know the Ground We Build On

Every business has an origin story, and ours is not nearly as dramatic as a superhero movie, unless the superpower in question is “reading a level correctly the first time.” Churchill Concrete started with a simple idea: homeowners and business owners around Fulshear deserved a concrete company that actually shows up, explains things in plain English, and builds a slab that still looks good a decade later. That idea turned into driveways, patios, foundations, and retaining walls poured all over Fort Bend County, and it still guides every job we take on today.

We picked our name for a reason that turned out to be a happy coincidence. Fulshear was named after Churchill Fulshear, an early settler in Stephen F. Austin’s colony. We didn’t plan the connection when we chose it, but once we noticed, it felt like a sign that we were supposed to be building here. Fulshear has changed a lot since those early farming days. Census figures show the population grew from around 1,000 people in 2010 to roughly 17,000 by 2020, making it one of the fastest-growing small cities in the country. That kind of growth means a lot of new driveways, new patios, and new foundations, and we have been pouring right alongside it.

Concrete is not a one-size-fits-all material, and the ground under Fulshear is not the same as the ground under a city in the desert or the mountains. Much of the soil here is clay-heavy, which means it swells when it rains and shrinks when it dries, sometimes shifting by several inches over the course of a year. Add in Gulf Coast humidity, summers with more than 100 days above 90 degrees, and storms that can drop a serious amount of rain in a single afternoon, and you get a climate that rewards careful planning and punishes shortcuts.

Built on Straight Answers & Solid Ground

Our crews live in the area, which means we’re not guessing about anything.

We know how a July pour behaves differently than a January one, how to slope a driveway so water runs toward the street instead of your garage, and how to prepare a base that can handle a Texas summer followed by a Texas thunderstorm.

That local knowledge shows up in the small decisions on every job, the ones a homeowner rarely sees but definitely benefits from later.

We’re not the flashiest crew on the road, but we’re the ones who will tell you honestly if your project needs a full replacement or a simple fix.

We measure twice, we compact the base properly, and we treat your property the way we would want ours treated.

If that sounds a little old-fashioned, good. Some things, like a solid foundation, are supposed to be.
